Hello Chris,
Follow these steps to search for specific text on a webpage:
- I'm using Word for Mac (Version 16.7). There is a problem with page numbers. I have a very long document, and although my TOC correctly identifies page numbers, they all appear as '1' in the document.
- Make Google your default search provider in your browser to get the fastest access to Google Search results. Switching is fast and easy. Type www.google.com in the Home Page box, and click OK.
The Preview app on Mac opens PDF files and image documents, and also allows for the easiest way to search PDF files for contextual term matches on a Mac. Even better, Preview can search in PDF files for matches across multiple pages, and it actually highlights each match in bright yellow making it. Oct 22, 2012 Hi I'm new here and I'm happy to be the proud owner of my first MAC computer. Loving it so far but I need to get used to some functions available to a normal PC. Can anyone telll me if it's possible to search for spefic words within a document or website. Sep 17, 2018 Like Word in Office for Mac, you can start with a blank document or use the template chooser. The word processing in page layout document view is easy to work with, and all the text formatting, fonts, outline styles and writing tools are easy to find and use.
Search within a webpage
- Open Safari if it is not already open, and then go to the webpage whose contents you want to search.
- Choose Edit > Find > Find, or press Command (⌘)-F.A search bar appears at the top of the webpage.
- In the search field at the right end of the search bar, type the word or phrase you want to find on the webpage.
- To reverse the direction of the search, click the Back or Forward buttons.
- When you’re finished, click Done.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
Best,
Sheila M.

Buy microsoft office for mac 2019. Uninstalled and Reinstalled several times. Now, I don't even get an error message. What the hell Microsoft? I upgraded from 2016 to Home and Business 2019 - and for a while it was great. Then - out of nowhere - possibly because of a Windows update - it simply STOPPED.When I tried to open my Outlook - I received the error'Outlook.exe is unable to start correctly (0xc0000142)'.So - I Googled the hell out of it - even Binged it - followed EVERY possible solution. When I click on a program (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook - anything) - there is simply NOTHING.as if it doesn't exist. To say I am beyond frustrated is an understatement.
The amount of information available on the Internet with just a few clicks of the mouse boggles the mind. If all that info was published in a single book it would probably reach all the way to the moon.
That’s why Google and other Internet search engines are so important for helping us find the info we need in a timely manner.
But a single web page can hold a lot of information as well, and if you need to find something on a large, congested page it can be like finding a needle in a haystack.
Luckily, there is a simple key combination that you can press to display a search box – sort of like your web browser’s own personal Google.
It doesn’t have all the nifty features and capabilities of Google built-in, but it will still allow you to find a specific word or phrase located anywhere on the currently displayed page in a jiffy.
Here’s how to search the current web page for a specific word or phrase:
1 – Press the Ctrl+F key combination. You’ll see a small search box pop up near the top of the screen.
2 – Type the word or phrase you wish to find in the search box. As you’re typing, the first occurrence of that word or phrase will automatically be highlighted on the screen.
Clicking the words Previous or Next (or the up arrow or down arrow depending on the browser) will highlight the previous or next occurrence of the word or phrase on the page.
Why not press Ctrl+F right now and give it a try?
